Heartbreak Healer
Test: Isaiah 61:1
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
Almost before the end of our first day on earth, we had been injected with snake venom when the snake, aka the devil, deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
We want to consider His healing of our heartbreaks. What is heartbreak? Overwhelming distress but not only from romance. It could be:
So, his first cure is of your heart that has been broken.
Similarly, all of us have experienced a broken heart at one time or another.
Perhaps even now, you are weeping silently. You are not alone. Ps 6:6. I am weary with my groaning;
All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears.
In this season, there is joy to the world, which shall be to all people. Will you receive Jesus? Do not refuse the healer from Heaven and your heart break will soon be history. Amen.

- The medicine for that poison (antidote for his venom) is known as Jesus, the Son of God, who was sent to us so that the venom will not kill us.
- That is why the bible says in 1 John 3:8 that He was revealed to destroy the works of the devil.
- He is God’s Healer for all the issues and challenges in our lives.
We want to consider His healing of our heartbreaks. What is heartbreak? Overwhelming distress but not only from romance. It could be:
- Through family, like with Jacob, Matt 10:36 A man’s enemies are the members of his household.
- Workplace: boss gives credit for your work to another
- Friends – like King David in Ps 55:12-14. For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me; Then I could hide from him. But it was you, a man my equal, My companion and my acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, And walked to the house of God in the throng.
- We broke Jesus heart with our sinfulness, hence the popular song “He died of a broken heart.”
So, his first cure is of your heart that has been broken.
- He starts healing by bringing us good news. Lk. 2:10
- When Jacob thought that wild animals had killed his son Joseph, he declared in Gen 37:35. 35 And all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted, and he said, “For I shall go down into the grave to my son in mourning.” Thus his father wept for him.
- Those who told him were serving as agents of the serpent at that point, even though they were family. His heart was broken. He wept.
- The pressure was increased when the other sons wanted to take Benjamin, to Egypt.
- Note: Things get worse before they get better
- Then he heard the good news: Gen 45:9-11, “Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph: “God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not tarry. You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you and your children, your children’s children, your flocks and your herds, and all that you have. There I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty; for there are still five years of famine.”’
- His heart that had been broken for years and years was immediately healed. Amen
Similarly, all of us have experienced a broken heart at one time or another.
Perhaps even now, you are weeping silently. You are not alone. Ps 6:6. I am weary with my groaning;

- God anointed and gave us Jesus to heal your broken heart. Amen.
- I know, because he healed my broken heart.
- However, the only way my healing can be permanent is that all the hearts I had broken or helped to break, I must go back to make restitution and apologize.
In this season, there is joy to the world, which shall be to all people. Will you receive Jesus? Do not refuse the healer from Heaven and your heart break will soon be history. Amen.
